The bicycle facilities include the non-limited access State Highway System (SHS) roadways with a shared-use path or a paved shoulder greater than or equal to 4 feet but less than 7 feet on either side. The percent of bicycle facility coverage quantifies the percentage of centerline miles of tracked non-freeway facilities that have suitable paved shoulders or shared-use pathways available to bicyclists. Decreases in bicycle facility coverage can be due to the installation of lane departure warning devices, including rumble strips, warning stripes, or reflectors which no longer fit the definition of a bicycle facility. In the formula below, a limited number of non-SHS roadways deemed of interest to FDOT are included.

• Bicycle Facilities: Roadway with paved shoulder ≥ 4' and < 7' or a shared-use path on either side of a roadway.
• Non-Limited Access: SHS roadways with some grade-separated interchanges, access roads, and/or driveways.

• • Yearly: All the calendar days in a year.
• Shared-Use Paths: Paved facilities physically separated from motorized vehicular traffic by an open space or barrier and are either within the highway right of way or an independent right of way.
